In the early seventies, many bands joined the music scene in Egypt, each of which had their own characteristics and style. However, the most unique music at the time was presented by the distinctive band Les Petits Chats, which introduced famous international songs with an Eastern touch and attracted a large number of young people.

Sherif Nakhla directed and produced a film which is named after the legendary band Les Petits Chats of the cherished era of the 60s and 70s. The film narrates the band's journey from its founding till the mid-1990s and their comeback to perform one last time in a night to remember in the spring of 2010. Starting Wednesday, the 29th of March, Les Petits Chats will be released at VOX Cinemas at Mall of Egypt for one week. The film is also set to be released across other Arab countries that will be revealed soon.

In 1967, Les Petits Chats band was founded by Wagdi Francis until 1995. The band performed a number of successful concerts in Cairo and Alexandria in the 60s and 70s. The band included a number of young talents, major celebrities and film stars of the time and nowadays including: Ezzat Abu Ouf, Omar Khairat, Omar Khorshid and Talaat Zein.

The band started with only five musicians; Wagdi Francis, Ezzat Abu Ouf, Freddy Rizk, Berge Anderesian and Omar Khairat. For many years, Les Petits Chats has been a platform for discovering young talents and has been joined by many talented musicians.

Wagdi Francis (Founder and Vocalist)
Wagdi Francis is the founder of Les Petits Chats and one of the band's main singers. He founded the band in 1967 and remained a member until 1995. Francis worked as a singer in many places until he returned to sing with his band at the concerts they performed during the last two years.

Omar Khairat (the Backbone Drummer)
Omar Khairat is a famous musician and pianist who was a member of the band where he started his career as a drummer. Later on, Khairat left the band and traveled to London for his studies and then returned to Egypt as one of the best Egyptian composers who has a significant fingerprint in the history of Egyptian music.

Ezzat Abu Ouf (Hammond and Keyboards)
Since his childhood, Ezzat Abu Ouf has played the keyboards until he had to give up his hobby when he joined the Faculty of Medicine and became unable to play on a regular basis. Abu Ouf played with Les Petits Chats from 1967 to 1980, and then founded with his sisters the 4M band. In the early 1990s, Abu Ouf started his career as an actor and has performed dozens of films, plays and TV dramas. From 2006 to 2012, Ezzat Abu Ouf was the Head of the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF).

Sobhi Bedair (International Tenor)
Sobhi Bedair is the main tenor of Les Petits Chats who joined the band later on. Bedair is the founder of Al Asdqaa' band and he is the former Director of the Cairo Opera House Orchestra. Bidair has won many competitions organized by Pavarotti among other awards and shields.

Sadek Gallini (Rocketeer Vocalist)
Sadek Gallini is one of the famous vocalists of the 1970s. Gallini joined the band two years after its founding and remained a member for six years. Then he released several famous solos until he rejoined the band in their recent concerts.

Omar Khorshid (Guitarist)
Omar Khorshid was a well-known guitarist who accompanied many Arabic singers. Khorshid joined the band in the 1970s and performed many successful concerts until he left the band. In 1981, Khorshid died in a car accident at the age of 36.

George Lukas (Saxophonist)
George Lukas is a famous saxophonist who joined the band in 1970. After performing for 16 years with Les Petits Chats, Lukas worked with several famous bands.

Talaat Zein (Singer)
Talaat Zein joined Les Petits Chats when one of its members left. Zein performed with the band in many concerts in Alexandria and Cairo (at the Sheraton Cairo Hotel Towers), until he left in 1982. Zein died in 2011 after a long battle with cancer.

Pino Fares (The Guitar Doctor)
Pino Fares is the most famous guitarist of the 1970s who performed with the band for a very long time. After he left the band, Fares accompanied famous singers in their concerts such as Amr Diab and Angham.
