Double World Premiere Entries for The Imaginarium Films
The Curve and Al Medina at DIFF
Jordanian producer Rula Nasser, Founder of The Imaginarium Films, is landing double entries at the Muhr Feature Competition within Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) with the latest film productions; The Curve by Rifqi Assaf and Al Medina by Omar Shargawi. Held through December 9th to 16th, the Festival will host the world premieres of the two films.
Written and directed by Rifqi Assaf, The Curve stars Palestinian star Ashraf Barhoum, Syrian actress Fatina Layla, Lebanese actor Mazen Moadam and Jordanian Ashraf Telfah. The film is a joint production between Jordanian Rula Nasser (The Imaginarium), Egyptian Mohamed Hefzy (Film Clinic) and French XÃ©nia Maingot (Eaux Vives Productions). MAD Solutions is handling the film's distribution and marketing worldwide. The Curve is about Radi, who leads a reclusive life in his own van, finds himself on a road trip with three strangers that alters his clockwork and very private lifestyle.
Al Medina, written and directed by Omar Shargawi, tells the story of Yusif who decides to come back along with his Danish pregnant wife Sarah to his home town Al Medina. His God fearing heart is following a dream of returning to his roots in search for peace and happiness with his wife and unborn child. Yet, only one mistake changes his life and throws him into the dark side of his own home town. The film stars Palestinian actor Ashraf Farah, Jordanian actress Nadera Omran along with Omar Shargawi. This film is a co-production between Rula Nasser's The Imaginarium and Danish producers Tomas Radoor and Rene Ezra (Nordisk Film Production). The film's Arab world distribution and marketing is assigned to MAD Solutions.
DIFF is one of the most important film festivals in the Arab world. In its 12th edition this year, DIFF will showcase over 120 features, shorts films and documentaries from around the world and will include several world premieres.
