Tamer Karawan Composes the Original Score of Segn Alnessa TV Series
After the big success garnered by the TV drama Zat last Ramadan, of which the original score was composed by Tamer Karawan, he carries on with his collaboration with Director Kamla Abu Zekry and Script-writer Mariam Naoum in their work-in-progress Segn Alnessa series. Set to be screened next Ramadan, the new TV drama stars Nelly Karim along with Ruby and Durra.
Produced by El Adl Group, Segn Alnessa is adapted from a play by Novelist Fatheyya El-Assal and focuses on real accounts the novelist had truly experienced in the Women's Prison during her detention there. It recounts the lives of three women who were subjected to grave injustice which ended them up to commit crimes and to be sent to jail. The series further tackles the current situation in Egypt and post-revolution women's status. Through his music, Karawan tries to convey the intricate psychological dimensions of the characters of such an emotion-packed series.
Previously, Karawan made several compositions and soundtracks for TV shows such as the comedic TV Show Heba Regl Al Ghorab; and Taht El-Ard, Zat, Al-Zawga Al-Thaneya and Fer'oun which were all screened in Ramadan 2013, and before that there were Zai El-Ward, El-Heroub and Taraf Talet in 2012 and El-Mowaten X in 2011.
