Sheikh Jackson Kicks off Its Premiere with the Attendance of Celebrities and Public Figures


Ahead of its theatrical release in Egyptian cinemas starting Wednesday, October 4, 2017, Film Clinic, The Producers and iProductions held the premiere night of director Amr Salama's film Sheikh Jackson at VOX Cinema, Mall of Egypt in 6th of October city. The premiere was attended by an array of film critics, super stars and public figures, who joined the celebrations of the film's cast and crew.

The premiere night started with the "Jackson Dance" that was performed by the winners of the So You Think You Can Dance Like MJ that was launched on the film's official Facebook page. From the film's crew, the premiere witnessed the presence of director Amr Salama; producers Mohamed Hefzy, Hani Osama and director/producer Hadi El Bagoury; writer Omar Khaled; along with the film stars Maged El Kedwany, Ahmed Malek, Salma Abou Deif, Mahmoud El Bezawy, Omar Ayman and Amr Salama's mother Siham Fouad, alongside the band headed by Hani Adel.

The premiere was also attended by a large number of celebrities, filmmakers and public figures, including Mahmoud Hemida, Ahmed Fahmy, Mohamed Farrag, Naglaa Badr and her husband businessman Mohammed Afifi, Engy Wegdan, Mayar El Gheity, Ali Sobhi, Engy El Moqadem, Shahira Fahmy, SNL Arabic Team, director Mohamed Diab, DOP Ahmad Al Morsy, writer Ahmed Mourad, executive producer Esraa El Adl, entrepreneur Perihan Abu Zeid, singer/composer Ahmed al Shami, singers Zap Tharwat, Osama El Hadi and MTM, singer/presenter Wael Mansour and social media influencers Hesham Afifi and Amr Wahba.

VOX Cinemas is the Arab world's most innovative cinema that is focused on providing a simply amazing experience for guests in UAE, Lebanon and Oman. VOX Cinemas is owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim Cinemas, which is the cinema arm of the wider Majid Al Futtaim Ventures group of businesses with the aim to create exciting and vibrant entertainment destinations that transport the guests from their everyday lives into the magical world of movies.

This comes after the film's limited screening for only one week in September in Port Said which was in coincidence with the film's European premiere at the 61st BFI London Film Festival (October 4-15) within The Journey section that aims to screen films that would transport the viewers and shift their perspectives.

Sheikh Jackson landed its world premiere at the 42nd Toronto International Film Festival within the Special Presentations programme that specializes in presenting world premieres or Canadian premieres of the year's awaited films, in addition to the most recent films by the world's leading filmmakers. Most recently, Sheikh Jackson landed its Egyptian and Arab world premiere at the opening of the first edition of El Gouna Film Festival, where it competes within the Feature Narrative competition. The film has been selected by the Egyptian Cinema Syndicate to be Egypt's official submission to the Academy Awards for Best Foreign-Language Film.

Co-produced by The Producers, Film Clinic and iProductions with Daniel Ziskind as Associate Producer, Sheikh Jackson is written and directed by Amr Salama and co-written by Omar Khaled. The film stars Ahmad Al Fishawy, Maged El Kedwany, Ahmed Malek. The film will also feature several guest stars, including Amina Khalil, Dorra, Basma, and Mahmoud El Bezawy. The German company Media Luna is responsible for distributing the film outside the Arab world. MAD Solutions, the company handling the film's marketing, has designed the Sheikh Jackson's poster that is used regionally and internationally.
