Screen Buzz Announces Call for Applications for Cairo TV Workshop Held during the Cairo International Film Festival
Screen Buzz is excited to announce an intensive 4-day writing for TV workshop, to be held in partnership with Cairo Industry Days during the 40th Cairo International Film Festival starting on the November 27th. Applications will be accepted from August 26th through September 26th, 2018.

Screen Buzz is an innovative series of creative workshops bringing top Hollywood writers, directors and producers to the Arab world to support local storytellers in the creation of original, purpose driven content for global audiences. The workshops provideaccess to leading Hollywood talent to help develop the most promising stories in the region. The Screen Buzz workshops are powered by America Abroad Media (AAM), a non-profit organization that champions global storytelling through the power of entertainment.
Screen Buzz TV workshop at Cairo Industry Days will be led by renowned showrunner, screenwriter and producer Mark Goffman (The West Wing | Bull), 2 times Writers Guild of America Awards nominee alongside screenwriter Samuel Baum (HBO's The Wizard of Lies | Lie to Me)

Screen Buzz workshops are held under the supervision of a Middle East Advisory Council, which includes the most prominent Arab figures in the film and TV industry: H.E. Noura Al Kaabi, UAE Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development (UAE); HRH Princess Rym Ali, Founder of the Jordan Media Institute and Board Member at the Royal Film Commission (Jordan); actress and director Nadine Labaki (Lebanon); actress and producer Saba Mubarak (Jordan); actress Yousra (Egypt); actress Hend Sabry (Tunisia); Ali Jaber, Group TV Director MBC (UAE); and recent member actress Nelly Karim (Egypt).

During 2018, Screen Buzz workshops are dedicated to sharpening the skills of screenwriters from across the Arab world. The first workshop was launched, in cooperation with the Royal Film Commission - Jordan, in Ammanin April, and its Cairo International Film Festival workshop will be held this November.
The Screen Buzz curriculum provides interactive sessions that encourage professional collaboration, critical thinking and the exchange of ideas. Participants will also have the unique opportunity to practice pitching their projects to the Hollywood mentors during one-on-one meetings. The workshop will follow up on the development of these projects as well.

Cairo Industry Days is the industry platform of the Cairo International Film Festival launching during the 40th edition of the festival. Cairo Industry Days in partnership with Arab Cinema Center, provides an important space for discussions, networking, meetings, workshops, masterclasses and partnership opportunities between Arab talents and regional and international key industry professionals to further support Arab cinema.
