RED 2 Brings Action to Egyptian Theatres
United Motion Pictures released today in Egyptian theatres the action comedy RED 2. The film sees the return of the first film's cast with the addition of Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins.
In RED 2, the high-octane action-comedy sequel to the worldwide sleeper hit, retired black-ops CIA agent Frank Moses reunites his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device. To succeed, they'll need to survive an army of relentless assassins, ruthless terrorists and power-crazed government officials, all eager to get their hands on the next-generation weapon. The mission takes Frank and his motley crew to Paris, London and Moscow. Outgunned and outmanned, they have only their cunning wits, their old-school skills, and each other to rely on as they try to save the world-and stay alive in the process.
RED was released in 2010 and earner US$199 million in worldwide box office sales. Since its release RED 2 has earned US$119 million worldwide, with a continuing increase as the film opens in more international markets.
RED 2 stars Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker, Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Byung Hun Lee and Brian Cox. The film was released in theatres by United Motion Pictures, the biggest film distributor in the world and the sole distributor of 20th Century Fox and Warner Bros. films in Egypt.
