Julianne Moore Wins the Best Actress Academy Award for Still Alice
Julianne Moore finished the award season with a bang winning her first Academy Award for Actress in a Leading Role for Still Alice, which will be seen across Renaissance Cinemas in Egypt starting Wednesday, 25 February by Al Arabia Cinema for Production and Distribution.
Alice Howland, happily married with three grown children, is a renowned linguistics professor who starts to forget words. When she receives a diagnosis of Early-Onset Alzheimer's Disease, Alice and her family find their bonds thoroughly tested. Her struggle to stay connected to who she once was is frightening, heartbreaking, and inspiring.
Moore won over 20 acting awards for her role in Still Alice including the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama, the BAFTA for Best Actress in a Leading Role, the Screen Actors Guild award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role, and the Critics' Choice Awards for Best Actress.
Still Alice is written and directed by Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland based on a novel by Lisa Genova. Starring opposite is Alec Baldwin (The Departed, 30 Rock), Kristen Stewart (The Twilight Saga), Kate Bosworth (Superman Returns, 21) and Hunter Parrish (It's Complicated, Weeds).
