Film Clinic's Projects Call the Attention of the French Media at Cannes Film Festival

Being the only Egyptian producer whose films screen in the world's major and most remarkable film festivals across Europe and North America, Producer and Scriptwriter Mohamed Hefzy's participation at Cannes Film Festival has drawn the attention of various French media outlets. The Film Fran├žais Daily and ├ëcran Total print outs, have singled out two reports about the most recent activities and projects of Film Clinic.

In its report about Hefzy, Écran Total referred to him as the producer whose movies are screened in Sundance, Venice, Berlin, Toronto and Cannes Film Festivals. It also quoted Hefzy's statements about the company's new project; Clash by director Mohamed Diab, which marks the latter's second directorial effort. The new film is
co-produced by Film Clinic and the Dubai-based EMC Media; marking its first foray into motion picture production after several successful TV shows and drama series.

Created by Khaled Diab, Clash is co-written by Khaled and Mohamed Diab, the initial production preparations of the one-million-Euro-budgeted film are scheduled to take place this August, 2014, while shooting the main scenes are scheduled to commence in October so that it can be screened in spring 2015.

Film Fran├žais, on the other hand, referred to the fact that Hefzy's Cairo-based production slate has produced 17 films since its foundation in 2006 and highly appraised Diab's debut Cairo 678 which was a great success when it was screened in Egyptian and French theaters.

Film Fran├žais also quoted Hefy's words about Mohamed Diab stating, "Mohamed has a true talent when it comes to recounting human-related stories whether emotionally or reasonably." Hefzy also praised Diab's Cairo 678; tracing back its success to that it addresses all classes of the Egyptian community and to the critical timing of its screening.

Hefzy also said to the two newspapers that he is now also working on Two Rooms and Parlour which marks Sherif El Bendary's feature directorial debut after directing a number of distinguished short films including At Day's End, On the Road to Downtown, and Dry Hot Summers, which received the Short Film Award from Robert Bosch Stiftung. El Bendary also took part in directing the Egyptian documentary 18 Days.

In Two Rooms and a Parlour, Film Clinic collaborates with the French Producer Marianne Lair from Joparige Films. Inspired by the late Ibrahim Aslan's novella, the film is scripted by Mohamed Salah Azzab who received an award for the film's script at Cairo Film Connection by the end of 2012 in addition to the Best Scenario Award from Sawiris Cultural Awards in 2011.
