Dhafer L'Abidine Guest of Honor at an Event Discussing Masculinities in the Arab World

As a guest of honor, Tunisian star Dhafer L'Abidine flew to New York to join an event titled Understanding Masculinities in the Middle East and North Africa Region. Organized by the UN Women, Brazilian organization Promundo, and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), the event was held on Wednesday, March 14, at the Japan Society in New York.

The event aims to discuss a study that has been carried out by the International Men and Gender Equality Survey (IMAGES), in coordination with the UN Women, Promundo, and local research partners. The study, covering Egypt, Morocco, Lebanon, and Palestine, reveals the reality of men's lives behind the headlines, through the largest ever multi-country study in the Middle East and North Africa, shows many aspects of public and private life, at home and at work, addresses the stereotypical image of men in the Arab world, and highlights ways to achieve gender equality.

Recently, the Orbit Showtime Network (OSN) selected Tunisian star Dhafer L'Abidine to endorse its new marketing campaign that focuses on how stories play a huge role in connecting people. L'Abidine was selected for his great storytelling skills and his ability to communicate with people of different ages.

L'Abidine is currently shooting his scenes for the new TV series Lyaly Eugenia, which takes place in Cairo and Port Said in 1946. The TV series is set to air in Ramadan 2018. Adapted from a Spanish TV series, Lyaly Eugenia is written by Ingy El Kassem and Samaa Abdel Khalek, directed by Hani Khalifa, and produced by Beelink Productions. This marks L'Abidine's second collaboration with Beelink Productions after Halawat Al Dounia TV series.

L'Abidine'slatest film, Habbet Caramel, is currently having its theatrical release across the Arab world. After making great success in Lebanese theaters, Habbet Caramel has been released in the UAE and Tunisia and is set to release in other Arab countries soon.
