Ahmed Malek Starts Shooting his Scenes in Director Sherif Arafa's Film The Treasure
Young star Ahmed Malek started filming his scenes in the new film The Treasure. Being a full-length film (4 hours), director Sherif Arafa's feature is set to be released in two installments; one of them will be during Eid Al-Fitr season, while the other one will be during Eid Al-Adha.
Meanwhile, Malek travels to Alexandria to continue filming his scenes in director Amr Salama's new film Sheikh Jackson that is set to be released next year.
Alongside Ahmed Malek, The Treasure stars Mohamed Ramadan, Mohamed Saad, Hend Sabry, Ahmed Rizk, Sawsan Badr, Haitham Ahmed Zaki, Ruby and Abbas Aboelhassan. Directed by Sherif Arafa, the film is written by Abdel Rahim Kamal.
The incidents of the film take place in four different eras, and revolve around corruption and the influence of some clergymen with power and fake and bad treatment to people throughout the ages, and how to involve religion in politics in order to obtain positions, especially when some of them tried to change history so that they can be the strongest in their positions.
Ahmed Malek is a young actor whose roles in many films and TV dramas gave him immediate stardom. His repertoire includes several films such as; The Island 2 (El Gezira 2) alongside Ahmed El Sakka and Hend Sabry, Clash which was the opener of the prestigious Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival and director Hadi El Bagoury's Hepta: The Last Lecture.
Starring in several TV dramas, Malek is best known for portraying Sheikh Hassan Al Banna in his early ages in the TV hit Al-Gama'a, and his astounding performances in Hekayet Hayah and Ma'a Sabk El Esrar, opposite Ghada Abdel Razik; and Wedding Song, which is based on a novel of the same name by Egyptian Noble laureate Naguib Mahfouz in Ramadan 2016. Currently he's getting ready to star in Hata La Tofea' Al Shams, which will premiere in Ramadan 2017.
