Getting Ready for the New TV Drama Hata La Totfea' Al Shams
Ahmed Malek Starts Shooting for His Part in Amr Salama's Film Sheikh Jackson
Young star Ahmed Malek starts shooting his scenes in director Amr Salama's upcoming new film Sheikh Jackson that is set to be released in Egyptian theatres this year. Malek is featuring the protagonist in his early age suffering from his passion for the music of the King of Pop Michael Jackson.
The film stars Ahmed Malek, Ahmad Al Fishawy, Maged El Kedwany and Amina Khalil. The film will also feature several guest stars, including Dorra, Basma, and Mahmoud El-Bezzawy. Co-produced by The Producers and Film Clinic, Sheikh Jackson is written and directed by Amr Salama and co-written by Omar Khaled.
The events of the film take us back to 25 June 2009 as the news of Michael Jackson's death took the world by storm affecting many, especially a preacher who is dubbed "Jackson" during his school days. But, what does a preacher have in common with the King of Pop? More importantly, can He now go back to his normal life, or will his memories and relationships with his loved ones raise the most prominent question in his mind? Is he the Sheikh, Jackson, or both?
At the same time, Malek is getting ready to start shooting his scenes in the new TV drama HataLa Tofea' Al Shams that is set to premiere next Ramadan. Written by Tamer Habib, Hata La Tofea' Al Shams is directed by Mohamed Shaker Khodeir.
Ahmed Malekis a young actor whose roles in many films and TV dramas gave him immediate stardom. His repertoire includes several films such as; The Island2 (El Gezira2) alongside Ahmed El Sakka and Hend Sabry, Clash which was the opener of the prestigious Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival and director Hadi El Bagoury's Hepta: The Last Lecture.
For the TV dramas, Malek is famous for featuring Sheikh Hassan Al Banna in his early ages in Al-Gama'a TV drama, his roles with star Ghada Abdel Razik in Hekayet Hayah and Ma'aSabk El Esrar, and Wedding Song, which is based on a novel of the same name by Egyptian Noble laureate Naguib Mahfouz last Ramadan.
