Lands a Double Premiere at the US and Palestine
3000 Nights in Ramallah with the Presence of Filmmakers and Director
Mai Masri's Palestinian feature film 3000 Nights is opening 2016 with a premiere in its homeland Ramallah, Palestine on Friday January 8th under the auspices of the Palestinian Ministry of Culture, which supported the film during its early phases. This comes a few days following the film's US premiere at Palm Springs International Film Festival in California (1-11 January, 2016).
In Ramallah, the film screening will be attended by Ehab Bseiso, Palestinian Minister of Culture, Director Mai Masri, along with actors; Maisa Abd Elhadi, Raida Adon, Abeer Haddad, Hana Chamoun, Youssef Abu Warda, Hussein Nakhleh and George Khleifi. It is planned to release 3000 Nights soon in Palestinian and Arab theatres.
Last month, 3000 Nights landed its Arab world premiere at the 12th Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) as part of the Muhr Arab Feature Films Competition with the presence of stars Maisa
Abdelhadi, Nadera Omran, Rakeen Saad alongside the film Producer Sabine Sidawi. At DIFF, the film received widespread acclaim by the audiences and critics. Lebanese critic Hauvick HabÃ©chian described 3000 Nights as "one of the most beautiful Arab films of the year."
On October 31st, Mai Masri's film 3000 Nights won the Meeting Point Audience Award at the 60th Valladolid International Film Festival in Spain where the audience rated the film 4.297 out of 5 and. In an official statement the festival acknowledged that the film "received the warmest acclaim from the audience". In less than one week following this, 3000 Nights received the Jury Award at the 8th Women's International Film and Television Showcase (The WIFTS), USA.
Since the film's world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival, 3000 Nights has been well received in film events. The film competed at Busan International Film Festival in South Korea and had a full-house screening at BFI London Film Festival.
A Palestinian co-production between France, Jordan, UAE, Qatar and Lebanon, 3000 Nights stars Maisa Abdelhadi and Nadera Omran. The film tells the story of a young Palestinian school teacher gives birth to her son in an Israeli prison where she fights to protect him, survive and maintain hope.
MAD Solutions is in charge of the international distribution of the film and May Odeh handles the Palestinian.
